Discover the history of our ship, once a Government owned Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker, and its significant role on the Great Lakes. Our volunteers will guide you through the corridors in an interactive one hour tour, sharing insights suitable for all ages. Explore the ship’s compartments to get a first hand understanding of how it operated while engaging with many authentic artifacts.

Things To Know
Before You Visit
- Guided tours are between 45 - 60 minutes long
- Each tour can accommodate up to 10 people
- Due to our ship’s historical nature it is not wheelchair accessible
- Restrooms available on site
- Parking is free
- Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear
- A portion of the tour will be outdoors, please dress for the weather
- Due to some areas inside the ship you will need to have the ability to climb steeper than normal stairs
Directions
We are located at the Pool 6 Grounds at Marina Park.
– > When you enter the park’s roundabout at Pearl St. exit RIGHT on the roundabout.
-> Continue down Sleeping Giant Parkway past the Thunder Bay Art Gallery construction.
-> Continue down the dirt road, around the bends.
-> Go up the hill to the left of the building.
-> You have arrived at the Transportation Museum of Thunder Bay!
-> Parking is free for TMTB guests along our black fence.
